Patrick is someone I'm getting to know who I'm eventually doing head shots for. I don't do a lot of headshot work I think primarily because I can't shoot that way. Retouched faces, keylighting, alien eyes, please look over your left shoulder, point your head down 20 degrees, look up at me with your eyes and only a hint of a smile if you would, photos are not my bag? or maybe i'm just not good at them? it's clearly a talent to take a great headshot, and they are different from a portrait, even though they are a portrait. it's been a very interesting experience thus far and i suppose should i shoot more "headshots" for actors i'm learning that my process requires getting to know you before i shoot you. it's not a 4 hour session with me that involves a list of skin care.
but the point. so here is patrick, in a totally unusable headshot which i happen to really like as just a picture of patrick. it's him, but it's a moment for sure. nice to be behind the camera again.
