The “Praise” List
I’ve decided to keep an ongoing list of the sites, services, products I write about which I put in the “Praise” category. Somtimes I might add sites that aren’t writen about immediately, so definately check this page often. The list starts small but is bound to grow as I live online and love to promote great new internet fabulousness.
Make your own cards and mailers:
- Moo.com (see post) : Flickr mini cards for the people - fast, simple, and obsessively beautiful
- 4by6.com : Fantastic business card printing company with the best self service tool I’ve used; order a sample kit.
- Modern Postcard - want to do a post card mailing? Have a list? Don’t want to do a mail merge and lick envelopes for days? Your needs answered here. Order a sample kit.
Web tools for non web people (makes your life easier)
- Wufoo - Don’t really understand the name, but the form tool is sublime and not a lick of code needed.
- Basecamp - need an extranet? need an extranet that is easy to use and maintain and won’t drive you to pull your hair out? includes time tracking too - go ahead give them your email and see what happens.
- Blinksale - Invoicing sans bookeeper
- Shopify- stop using ebay as your store, it’s ugly . Shopify is great looking super simple to use, and lets you manage a storefront, take orders and be in business without having to pay an extra 2 cents just to make your feature product bold. I haven’t been a diligent as a should, but you can always check out mine.
On-demand Online Book Publishing
- Blurb - Hardcover beauties, layout software (for MAC and PC), simplicity, publish in seconds. As an aside, the CEO is a great woman on Jen Bekman’s killer women list.
- My Publisher - I shot a wedding, I had to lay out an album, I have to give My Publisher my first born for making it painless. PC only software to use all the flexible layouts, but there is an iPhoto plugin if you’re ok with the iPhoto layouts.
